More storage chests Cherry and Maple

Customer who had me make the earlier Cherry chest wants a couple more.  He is interested in one done in the 'natural' Maple our local supplier stocks.  It has lots of brown sapwood and beautiful pattern.

Here is the first one getting all mortices cut with my router jig.

And here is the Maple I picked out for the other box.   Nice, hunh? I got plenty, so I can choose the best pattern..  5, 12 footers will leave a bunch of leftovers for other small projects.

I like using maple in the laminated cutting boards for Christmas show.

Dry fit of Cherry parts:

Ready to hinge the lid

For the maple chest, I couldn't find 2 in. boards for the legs.   Instead, I'll make the legs with a splined miter.   That will look good, and be less time consuming fitting the bottom.   Most parts are cut, including an intriguing section of board I may use for the top...
