Hawk perch / cabinet in cherry

A friend who is a falconer wanted a cabinet/perch to house his bird in a more furniture-like area.

So we came up with this.   A 48 in wide 42 in high cabinet.  The bird's mutes drop into a tray which slides out for cleaning.  The top has fiberglass rods in the opening for droppings so Mr. Hawk won't tromp in his own waste.

The cherry edge on actual perch and the cabinet top are elevated about 1/4 in. to allow for addition of Astroturf.  There are four large storage compartments under the poop-tray.

The cabinet sides and door panels are made from some cherry veneer I had left from another project and laminated on 3/4 birch ply.
